Oh these holidays have a way of doing that to us don’t they? Remembering days of old, creating new memories with hopes to follow them up year after year after year, and of course joining with family and friends to complete all these lovely rituals we hold so dear to our hearts.
It is so wonderful to build your very own traditions for all times of the year, but the holiday season is particularly inspiring I must say. Some of ours are old… you know three years old… and some are new this year and who knows? We could be doing for many years to come! I like that thought. Lee and I, old as dirt, drinking some holiday home brews, glueing buttons to cards decked out in our newly polished shoes.
Around here it has been looks a little like this…

reading an old favorite.. over and over.. and over.. perhaps we started the jolly season a touch too early.

They look pretty good, if I don’t say so myself. Thanks St. Nick!
And a new one, one that surprises me, but was oh- so- enjoyable. As a note in the advent relayed to us two days ago- we were to go on a movie date. Well now. A movie. For this non-tv watching boy of mine made me a little apprehensive. But after much ado, lots of debate on which movie to go and see, it turned out it was the perfect experience after all. I look forward to going on a little date with my oldest for many years to come. Soon I will have to sneak a second date in too I suppose.
I am even developing a bit of a “jolly” sized belly from all the goodies that go along with the season! Its glorious! Yes, we are in the thick of crafting and creating and knitting and wax and paint and well, so much of the stuff that I just love! What does this time of year look like for you?
